The Uses of Poetry

I've fond anticipation of a day
O'erfilled with pure diversion presently,
For I must read a lady poesy
The while we glide by many a leafy bay,

Hid deep in rushes, where at random play
The glossy black winged May-flies, or whence flee
Hush-throated nestlings in alarm,
Whom we have idly frighted with our boat's long sway.

For, lest o'ersaddened by such woes as spring
To rural peace from our meek onward trend,
What else more fit? We'll draw the latch-string

And close the door of sense; then satiate wend,
On poesy's transforming giant wing,
To worlds afar whose fruits all anguish mend.

TIME OF NO REPLY

Summer was gone and the heat died down,

And Autumn reached for her golden crown,

I looked behind as I hesrd a sight,

But this was the time of no reply.

The sun went down and the crowd went home,

I was left by the roadside all alone,

i turned to speak as they went by,

But this was the time of no reply.

The time of no reply is calling me to stay,

There’s no hello, and no goodbye.

To leave there is no way.

The trees on the hill had nothing to say,

They would keep their dreams till another day,

So they stood and thought, and wondered why,

For this was the time of no reply.

Time goes by from year to year,

And no one asks why I am standing here,

But I have my answer as I look to the sky

This is the time of no reply.

The time of no reply is calling me to stay,

There’s no hello and no goodbye.

To leave there is no way.

so you dreamt me,last night

you dreamt the shore we stood on

the little distance recalled back

skin sliding no word no shape changing

it was marvellous wasn’t it

it was my fault yes it is

so close so close so wet and then

sliding in another place together

we got into a tangle

steam and stone

so last night you dreamt me

yes it was,you say

you just woke up confused

sadly no me close to you

on sunday morning warm pillow

that’s why your misty clear voice

suddenly phoned me all the story

carring on it coming round it

breathless mad simple bite

we are not able to die of hunger

because it’s about

a romance and telegraph poles

the water its mass and the blanks between

two black lines upside-down my eyes

both the lips of mine circled by gloss

so perfect for you to kiss them

my alphabet is empty now

full of exotic appetizers

hidden for harsh people

colapsing in a while

my words in boxes and grapes

a research side to side

without a tribe

to be free

the title should be

all the story I said

I have been idle and cheeky

I have been lost

I have been froth

finally I have been aware

sparkling for news

and gathering pieces

to some different theses

so simple

it was

later on we’ll steal the night

distant fingers moving a side

loosers

beautiful

brave and shocked

scent of tangerine now

a tipsy dance

how

how did the storms be back

how did

companionships land or sail

and commuters of ideas

change clothes office to home

stolen ash

brittle flush for the roses

start smailing,you do

and be companion

either good or bad

’cause we’ll steal the night

shots of halleluya

singing in the deep

and steams all along that way

here we go

so you dreamt me,last night

you dreamt the shore we stood on

the little distance recalled back

skin sliding no word no shape changing

it was marvellous wasn’t it

it was my fault yes it is

so close so close so wet and then

sliding in another place together

we got into a tangle

steam and stone

so last night you dreamt me

yes it was,you say

you just woke up confused

sadly no me close to you

on sunday morning warm pillow

that’s why your misty clear voice

suddenly phoned me all the story

carring on it coming round it

breathless mad simple bite

we are not able to die of hunger

because it’s about

a romance and telegraph poles

the water its mass and the blanks between

two black lines unpside-down my eyes

both the lips of mine circled by gloss

so perfect for you to kiss them
